MUSA KASA?

MUSA KASA (= “a pile/stack of music” in Finnish) is an online record label/portfolio hybrid for the numerous original music projects by Joni Raikaslehto, founded in 2021 and currently based in Helsinki, Southern Finland.

It was born out of necessity to find a way to showcase & promote Raikaslehto’s diverse & more alternative oriented musical output. There simply wasn’t any existing record labels out there which would’ve been up for the task.

Most of the projects showcased feature musicians from different nordic nationalities thus creating an unique mix of different musical backgrounds and influences.

MUSA KASA is dedicated in bringing fresh and exiting sounds to the current nordic musical climate (and beyond!).

About Joni

Joni Raikaslehto is a bassist, composer & multi-instrumentalist from Finland.

In addition of being in charge of MUSA KASA and all it’s projects, Joni is also working as a freelancer/sideman in various other bands in Finland & Denmark.

Joni’s unconditional love for music was first realised in his late teens when he discovered the magic of 70’s progressive rock (Genesis, Pink Floyd, Yes, Jethro Tull, ELP, Focus…) and 70/80’s jazz/fusion (Headhunters, Return To Forever, Weather Report, Chick Corea Electric Band…). His biggest musical idols/influences are Frank Zappa and Pekka Pohjola (famous Finnish bassist & composer)

Upon accepting that music was his true passion in life he followed his inner urge to start to write his own music and also learn to play an instrument (eventually several).

After approximately an year of intense practise with his instrument of choice, electric bass, Joni embarked on a 10 year stint in formal musical studies which eventually led to his masters degree from The Danish National Academy Of Music in 2021.
