gaussian_blur is a one man expedition deep into the world of sound & texture.
Known for elaborate musical visions & extended compositions, this solo project by Joni Raikaslehto takes a full 180 on all that and focuses on a more open ended listening experience. These simple and repetitive pieces can be used as an focus enhancing tool or just as a pleasant passive background pillow of sound. Two Ep’s are currently in the works.
The first one, Beats consists of “lo-fi” hiphop style beats with a twist; all the instruments are played and recorded live and then sampled and sequenced to make the finished beat. All the tunes on the ep feature only three instruments, acoustic piano, drums & upright bass (sample based).
The second ep, Moments consists of ambient soundscapes combined with a minimalistic video-art backdrop.
Both eps will be released in 2024
